Bashing Part 2 - read files line by line

Many soon come out over several segments iterate to do eg:

for i in `ls -1 -" none "color =` echo-n
Thurs

$ i-d "$ i" & & echo-n "is a directory .. .
echo
done



This works even if no spaces or other whitespace in the file name of
edition of "ls" is available (The output of ls, as a file - there might as well "ls -1 - color = none> / tmp / ls_ausgabe . txt; cat / tmp / ls_ausgabe.txt.

# if you want it so "safe will have," the IFS should be set correctly before:
original IFS = $ ' \\ n '

 
# following command shows the contents of IFS:


set
IFS = $ OLD_IFS
