After several years of "development" I am now outside for a Media Center PC (pictured next to the speaker arrived) that meets my requirements:

The Asus board has a lot of video options (DVI, VGA, TV-Out, S-video, composite and component) and supports the "awakening" on the remote control and automatic switch for timer recordings from hibernation.
